On May 1, 2016 Yakutia Airlines will inaugurate weekly scheduled service between Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (UUS) and Tokyo (Narita – NRT). The flights will operate on Sundays utilizing Sukhoi Superjet aircraft configured with Economy and Premium Economy service. Yakutia’s schedule is coordinated with those of major carriers operating into Tokyo (NRT) from the US to allow for convenient connections. In addition, a baggage-transfer agreement with United Airlines will permit travelers to check bags all the way through from the US to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, thus avoiding entry/exit formalities when connecting at Tokyo. Tickets are now on sale through AirRussia.US, qualified travel agents, and sales outlets across Russia.
