2021 Alaska – Russian Far East Service Suspended
Yakutia Airlines’ 2021 Alaska-Russian Far East flights will not operate due to ongoing issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Travelers holding vouchers (EMDs) issued in 2020 when service was cancelled have two options: they may use their vouchers for travel in 2022, or they may obtain a full refund of the fare amount. Click here for more details.
2022 Alaska-Russian Far East Service
In 2022 the service will operate weekly on Mondays, July 11 to August 29, and may be extended by one or two weeks if demand justifies. We encourage operators, tour companies and event organizers to contact us with their plans for next year.

AirRussia.US and Yakutia Airlines look forward to resuming their signature Alaska- Russian Far East Service and will open ticket sale as soon as circumstances permit. Currently US and Russian consulates are not issuing routine visas, and travel restrictions remain in place for both countries. However, the situation around COVID-19 remains dynamic and continues to move in a favorable direction. We are closely monitoring events and remain optimistic that travel will be feasible in time for the summer.

The natural and cultural wonders of the Russian Far East are just a short 4.5-hour flight from Anchorage, Alaska. Take Yakutia Airlines to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the Kamchatka peninsula – Russia’s ultimate adventure travel destination – to fish, climb volcanoes, soak in hot springs, or visit world-renowned Geyser Valley and Uzon Caldera. The flights also serve Yakutsk, home to Lena Pillars Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Or connect to other destinations around the Russian Far East.

Introducing Premium Economy Service
Yakutia Airlines is pleased to introduce Premium Economy service on the Anchorage (ANC) – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (PKC) routing. Passengers who choose Premium Economy will enjoy enhanced meals, more seating room, a greater baggage allowance and very flexible terms, among other benefits. The service is provided to passengers who book FULL ECONOMY (Y) and SPORTSMAN (X, I) classes of service. Benefits include:
Aisle and window seats, forward; blocked middle seat provides extra space (subject to load), advance seat assignments. Passengers travelling in premium economy my request specific seats, such as aisle, window, seating with a particular passengers, bulkhead, aisles across.
Passengers choosing Premium Economy service will received enhanced meals and complimentary alcohol on the legs between Anchorage and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Passengers in Premium Economy my check up to three bags, 2 standard bags up to 50 lbs (23kg) and one additional items of sporting equipment (fishing rods, rifles, ruffle, surfboard, etc.)
Optimal Refund/Change Terms
Premium Economy classes of service (Full Economy – Y and Sportsman’s – X) have more flexible terms and lower fees than Standard Economy. This include no penalty for changes, minimal penalty for refunds, and unlimited ticketing time limit. For full details, check here.
- Approximate taxes for a round-trip Anchorage-Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anchorage-Yakutsk ticket are $63.25; Taxes and fares are subject to change at government discretion.

Japan – Sakhalin Flights
Connect to Russia via Japan
Russian carrier Aurora Airlines operates twice weekly service between Tokyo (Narita – NRT), Japan and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (UUS), Russia, in partnership with InterAviation Japan and AirRussia.US. Flights operate on Tuesdays and Fridays utilizing Airbus A319-100 aircraft configured with Economy Class seating. The flight time is just over 2 hours.
Traveling from the US?
Aurora’s schedule is coordinated with those of major carriers operating into Tokyo (NRT) from the US to allow for convenient connections. Upon request, we can arrange fast-track and meet-and-greet services at Narita. We can also facilitate expedited baggage transfer between Aurora flights and those to/from the US.
