InterPacific Aviation and Marketing, Inc. (IPAM) announces with regret that Yakutia Airlines’ 2021 Alaska-Russian Far East Service will not operate due to ongoing issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, a US State Department Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory for Russia remains in place, and US and Russian consulates are not yet issuing routine tourist visas to each other’s citizens. Given the lead-time required to process visas once the consulates resume visa processing, it is no longer feasible for all of our valued clients to secure visas in a timely manner. We plan to resume the Alaska-Russian Far East Service in the Summer of 2022 with 8 to 10 weekly flights.
Travelers holding vouchers (EMDs) issued in 2020 when service was cancelled have two options: they may use their vouchers for travel in 2022, or they may obtain a full refund of the fare amount. Those who choose to travel in 2022 may exchange their vouchers to tickets in the same class of service as originally booked at no additional cost, even if ticket prices are higher in 2022. (NOTE: some vouchers will need to be reissued with the new validity dates). See details for both options below.
2022 Alaska-Russian Far East Service
In 2022 the service will operate weekly on Mondays, July 11 to August 29, and may be extended by one or two weeks if demand justifies. We encourage operators, tour companies and event organizers to contact us with their plans for next year. We look forward to seeing you on board again!
How to Use your Voucher to Travel in 2022
PASSENGERS: If you’d like to travel in 2022, just check the valid date on your voucher. If it’s valid through 2022, no action is required. Just contact us any time after tickets for the 2022 go on sale at the end of this year to exchange your voucher for a ticket on a specific flight. If your voucher expires in 2021, contact us and we ask the carrier to issue an updated voucher valid for travel through 2022.
