Yakutia Airlines’ 2018 Alaska Photo Contest Winners Announced

Seattle, May 31, 2018 – Russia’s Yakutia Airlines has announced the prize winners of its 2018 Alaska Photo Contest. The winning photos were selected from numerous images submitted by photographers from Alaska and other US states. The photo contest was organized by InterPacific Aviation and Marketing, Inc./AirRussia.US – Yakutia Airlines’ representative office in North America – and was aimed at promoting Alaska among Russian and other international tourists as a world-class destination.

Regional Director Mark Dudley of InterPacific Aviation and Marketing, Inc./AirRussia.US: “Alaska is one of my favorite places and I travel there often, but I also love to see it through the eyes of talented photographers. I’m grateful to all the photographers who submitted their visions of Alaska, and congratulate the winners. The winning photos are Alaska’s ambassadors, and we look forward to sharing them with our readers and passengers in Russia”.

The contest invited submissions in five categories: Nature & Outdoors, Heritage & Culture, Local People & Faces, Leisure & Relaxation, and Food & Drink.

Photos were judged by the marketing team at IPAM/AIrRussia.US in consultation with a professional photographer John Arnsdorf. Images were judged on fitness for the contest aim, originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.

The first place winner of the 2018 Alaska Photo Contest is Shivanshu Pande with his winning photo “Glacier to Heaven”.

The photo was taken at Spencer Glacier, Alaska. Shivanshu Pande will receive two free round-trip air tickets from Anchorage to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky or Yakutsk, Russia on Yakutia Airlines.
